Clarification: When I write, I don't prepare or organize my ideas, I just write what I would say if I was talking to you in person, so sometimes my blogs end up a little messy. I don't even proof-read what I write before posting it so you may find grammatical mistakes and poorly written sentences. Sometimes I'll read my blogs a day or two after publishing them and I may re-write things that weren't too clear and any embarrassing grammatical mistake. Also, English is not my first language, so I apologize if reading my blogs become a struggle. Of course, if this is the case, I would imagine you wouldn't continue reading.

Responses From People Who Want To Believe

Scientists don’t know everything.

But they seem to trust scientists for everything else, including putting their lives at risk every time they go to the doctor or getting on a plane.

You can’t prove it doesn’t exist/it’s not real.

Yet they don’t believe in invisible dragons, Harry Potter, or when I tell them I’m actually an alien god that came from another galaxy, even when they can't prove those things aren't real either.

You are close minded.

But they don’t seem to be particularly open minded when it comes to accepting their beliefs don't add up or have been debunked time after time or that have no evidence whatsoever or have simpler and more mundane explanations (e.i. placebo effect).

Everything is a world wide conspiracy/governments and corporations wants to kill them, make them sick and take their money.

But they live regular happy lives full of luxuries (compared to the rest of the world), supporting all the evil companies that feed them, clothe them and keep them medicated, with the best health and longest life expectancy that humans have ever enjoyed since the arrival of Homo Sapiens.

-----
I try to plant the seed of reason in them, but I know it will be nearly impossible for anyone to let go of their beliefs. I used to have faith, and I know when you have it, you think it's an essential part of who you are, so thinking about getting rid of your faith is like thinking about getting rid of an arm. So I just let them know that it doesn’t matter, that I don’t care about what they believe in, that I like them because I think they are cool people, and that's all it matters. It's a little strange and disappointing, however, after having these types of conversations, when they stop responding my texts or are suddenly too busy to hang out for the next few years.

The Diamond In The Box & The "F" Word

A guy was holding a strange box that his uncle gave him long ago before he passed away. He said there was a huge diamond inside, but that no one knew how to open the box. I asked him if he had seen this diamond, and he said he hadn't, but he was certain there was a diamond inside because his uncle told him there was, and his uncle was a good honest man. Allegedly, it was a present that a noble king gave his family long ago as a sign of appreciation or something. He even had a copy of a certificate signed by this king that mentions the diamond in the box. I asked him if his uncle met this king, and he said he didn't, that no one from his family that he's talked to have, but that they all knew about the huge diamond in the box.

Hobby Lobby: The Blue Or The Red Pill?

The trending political issue all over the social networks today is the Hobby Lobby case, and if you happen to live under a rock or in a submarine, here's the 2-line explanation: the Supreme Court ruled that Hobby Lobby is not obligated to provide contraceptives in the health insurance plan they offer to their employees because it goes against the company's religious beliefs.

In the general sense, I think this is bad, really bad, but not for the reasons you may think.

Divine Gratefulness

For the most part of the day, I've been thinking about all this gratitude we humans give to the invisible person in the sky. Now, I'm not a believer, or rather, I believe in what's verifiable only. If there was a way to verify there's a god, then I would believe in it, no doubt. I mention this because I'm going to attempt writing this blog not as a non-believer, but as someone thinking rationally, although, I wouldn't take my words too seriously, take them more as pure logical entertainment. What I mean is, you can stop constricting your anal sphincter muscle now and relax.

Abort Mission (Thoughts Of An Ex-Pro-Lifer)

The abortion debate is one of the most delicate and controversial issues today. It's a powerful topic that ignites passions like no other topic, and it's the reason for lost friendships, fist fights, and even terrorism and death. For this reason, I try not to talk too much about it, or at least, I try not engaging people on the subject on my own social network profiles. I know lots of good people, at a personal and professional level, who don't share my same views on this matter. That doesn't mean that I don't understand where they are coming from, because I do, as I was once one of them.

I'm Tired Of Political Posts But...

I just need to give you my useless opinion, and this will be the last time you'll read this sort of post from me.

I can't vote, as I'm not a USA citizen yet, but I'm obviously more an Obama than a Romney person. I'm not going to say that Obama's administration has been perfect, but I get the impression that most of the people I know that are against Obama have been anti-Obama since day one, which makes any opinion they may have even more useless than mine. These people won't listen, they have trained themselves to kiss ass, but that's material for another blog that I won't be writing.

Anyway, this is what I gather from the little I've seen or read on the news:

Questions To My Religious Friends

Believing in a God and following a religion may be related, but they are two very different things. I can understand to a certain extent why someone would choose to believe in a God or in an afterlife, but it is a little bit harder for me to understand why as fantastic and contradictory as religions can be, people choose to believe in sometimes completely irrational things, things that they learned from other people.

The following is a set of questions I'd like to ask religious people. Depending on your beliefs, some of the questions may not apply to you, if this is the case, then just ignore the question.
